LAX Terminal 7 Food: B Grill, Ashland Hill and the Rest

LAX Terminal 7 has ten restaurants and one of them is a Boa Steakhouse offshoot. That’s a higher ceiling than most of the domestic side at this airport, and it makes T7 a reasonable place to be stuck.

What’s worth eating in Terminal 7?

B Grill by Boa Steakhouse is the headline. It’s the airport version of a Los Angeles steakhouse group, and while it’s not the full Boa experience, the burger and the steak salad both hold up in a way airport food generally doesn’t. This is your sit-down meal if you have an hour.

Ashland Hill is the better default. Gastropub, good beer list, faster than B Grill, and better for the middle case where you want real food but not a production. It’s named for the Santa Monica original and it carries the same casual register.

Klatch Coffee deserves specific mention. It’s a Southern California roaster with a real reputation, and this is one of the better airport coffee operations in the country. If you’re a person who has opinions about coffee, this is the reason to walk to T7 from Terminal 8.

Loteria Grill is the fast pick. Mexican, counter service, and — since Terminal 5 closed in October 2025 took the Farmers Market location with it — the only Loteria left at LAX. Tacos that travel well onto a plane.

The Counter does build-your-own burgers, which is slower than it sounds because of the ordering process. Good if you have time, frustrating if you don’t.

Wolfgang Puck Express is the quick-service version of the Puck operation that anchors Terminal 6. Fine, and faster than most.

Rolling Stone Bar & Grill is the themed bar. It works.

BLD covers breakfast-lunch-dinner in the generic sense, which is useful at odd hours.

Pre-security, at arrivals: a Coffee Bean and a Dunkin’. Both useful if you’re meeting someone.

What should I get based on time?

Under 20 minutes: Loteria Grill or Wolfgang Puck Express.

20 to 40 minutes: Klatch Coffee and something from the case, or Ashland Hill at the bar.

40 to 75 minutes: Ashland Hill, sitting down.

Over an hour: B Grill by Boa Steakhouse. This is the window where it makes sense.

Delayed indefinitely: Ashland Hill or Rolling Stone. Both have proper bars and enough seating to settle in.

What’s the shopping situation?

Six shops, and one of them is genuinely good.

Book Soup is the airport outpost of the Sunset Boulevard bookstore, and unlike most airport bookstores it has an actual point of view. If you need something to read on a transcontinental flight and you’d rather not buy the same six bestsellers available everywhere, this is where to go.

DFS Duty Free covers the international departures out of T7. Hugo Boss is the clothing option. Bartel’s Harley Davidson is the Los Angeles-specific gift shop, which is a stranger choice than See’s Candies but not a worse one. Pier No. 7 Market is the grab-and-go, and Hudson News covers the newsstand case.

How does T7 compare to the rest of LAX?

Ten restaurants puts Terminal 7 in the upper-middle of the airport.

The Bradley terminal leads with 20 — Border Grill, P.F. Chang’s, CHAYA Sushi, Beecher’s, Umami Burger, LAMILL Coffee. Terminal 1 has 13, Terminal 6 has 12 with the three Wolfgang Puck concepts, and Terminal 3 has 10. Terminal 5’s ten came off the board when it closed.

At the bottom: Terminal 4 has three and Terminal 8 has four.

Terminal 7’s advantage over the other ten-restaurant terminals is the ceiling. B Grill and Ashland Hill are better than what T3 offers at the top end, even if the overall count is the same.

Can I get to Terminal 7 from another terminal?

Terminals 7 and 8 connect directly. If you’re departing from T8 with its four restaurants, walking to T7 is the obvious move and takes about five minutes.

Getting to T7 from the Bradley terminal or the lower-numbered terminals is harder. LAX’s airside connections don’t cover every pair, and some combinations require going landside and re-clearing security. Check the LAX terminal directory before you plan a walk.

Do I have time to eat?

This is where LAX’s specific profile matters.

The TSA peak is 25 minutes, on Sunday at 9 AM. Sunday 11 AM runs 24, Sunday 5 PM runs 23, Friday 9 AM runs 23, Monday 10 PM runs 23. Those are moderate peaks.

The floor is the problem. LAX logs just 10 hourly slots at five minutes or under across the entire week. The checkpoint never empties, so you’re looking at 12 to 25 minutes at essentially any hour.

Assume 20 minutes at security. A two-hour arrival leaves you roughly 70 minutes airside — enough for B Grill. A 90-minute arrival leaves you 35 — Ashland Hill at the bar, or Loteria Grill.

If you’re arriving internationally at T7

The customs number is the one that matters, and LAX’s is among the worst in the country: 77 minutes on Sunday at 3 PM, 72 on Friday at 5 PM.

That’s an hour and a quarter in the immigration hall. Any connection off an international arrival at LAX needs two and a half hours minimum, three if you’re checking bags and landing on a Friday or Sunday afternoon.
