About Terminal 8

Terminal 8 covers United Airlines' gates 80 through 89 and functions as the other half of the shared Terminal 7/8 complex, with common check-in and the same consolidated 12-lane checkpoint feeding both buildings' gates airside. A passenger screened here can walk directly to Terminal 7's 70s gates without clearing security again, which is the point of the shared setup rather than an incidental overlap. As with Terminal 7, United is the only airline operating out of the building, so gate reassignments between the two terminals happen on the airside side of the one checkpoint.
